Thanks for visiting my blog. Enjoy looking around at my custom ring slings and wall hangings!
Some of my images are clickable, so you can get a better, closeup view.
I am no longer taking orders for wall hangings or slings. It’s possible that I will start with wall hangings again at some point in the future.

…but totally fun for sure!
My daughter now has her own room, so I have been ‘putting it all together’ for her and really enjoying myself. Here is a little before and after of her dresser. The dresser was given to me by a very sweet friend, Chris. It looked like this:

I am opening up a few spots for semi-custom art appliqué wall hangings.
Instead of just owls, however, there are 4 other options for appliqués as well. 
The choices are (there are pictures of each of these below):
1) A bird and branch (just like the one pictured) $85
2) Willow tree with blowing branches $85
3) A lotus flower $115
4) Ginkgo leaves with a dragonfly $115
5) Owl with branches $135
The wall hanging with be in this style:
The fun part though, is you get to pick the prints you want! You can send your own, or pick from etsy.com (includes any fabric that is $10/yd or less) if you’d like something that costs more, you will need to cover the difference).
If you would like to order a wall hanging, please send me an email stating which number appliqué you want. I will send you an invoice that does not include shipping (you pay for that once I pack it up and figure out the actual amount).
I will need payment and links to the 3 prints by Monday at 1pm (pacific time).
Example Photos of Appliqué Choices:

3) Lotus (it will actually be bigger for this project)

Owl Sling?

Would you like one? I just recently made this sweet little light colored owl and I want to make another! (Made for the sweet and talented Andrea of Dream Carriers.)
Light sage green body with cream edging. You pick your length, keeping in mind that the panel is 20″ long.
You can choose from the fabrics pictured, or let me pick for you.
You can see I’ve added a special detail to the shoulder… a circle of the print! It does not interfere with wearing.
(There is a hidden pocket on the back of the tail).

Turnaround time is 1 week from payment received.

Stunning set of stretched canvas wall hangings. Layers of fabric, paint, and raw edge applique technique gives this set a very unique look. It’s something I’ve always been wanting to do. I am thrilled with the end result of this!

Slings are each approximately 76″-77″ long, not including the rings.
The detail on the tail is 20″, so please keep that in mind for space when wearing.
They are all single layer slings, double accordian shoulder with pleats on under side (not showing when worn).

No longer available!
Price is $145 including shipping.
The branches are essentially the same as these slings and the tail is 20″ from top print strip down. The leaves will be made from the print.
Hidden pocket on back.
Here is the sketch and the fabric choices (slight changes are okay, as long as you just pick from what’s available–edging colors and body colors cannot be changed to be the other.) The owl will have feet.
Please note that I cannot guarantee what color your moniter shows the colors… please go off of the description.
1) Slate gray with robin’s egg blue edging and Anna Maria Horner print:
2) Robin’s Egg blue with light green edging and Fresh Cut Flowers:
3) Canyon pink with peach edging and Fresh Cut Flowers (this is a low contrast egding and body combo)
4) With high contrast cream edging instead

I apologize for how long it’s been since I last updated. I hope you all haven’t given up on me! I’m back to homeschooling my son again, and it seems to not leave much time/energy for much else.
I am sad to say, that for now, I am putting custom rings slings on the shelf. 
I still love to make slings but I am also finding myself leaning in other directions as far as my sewing artistry goes. I will be making instock slings and also focusing on moving toward more elaborate wall art; custom and of my own creation. So you can still get a custom (wall hanging, lol)!
I have been focusing my instocks on a new store locally called aNeMonE. They have amazing handmade paper flowers and other beautiful things and my slings fit in and sell well there.
Which brings me to some sling availability. I recently made some fab slings that sold very quickly and I need to make some replacements. You can see what they look like here . (Picture is clickable for a better view). I have changed my shoulder so the folds (pleates) are on the underside (not showing when worn). They are single layer slings.
Both slings are spoken for. Thanks!
If you would like one or the other, please send me an email at saritastardesigns@gmail.com. I will only be taking orders for 2 so I can make them at the same time as the aNeMonE replacements. They are $140 each. The bird on the blue will be a bit different but not much. You can pick which bird you want on your branches. There is a hidden pocket on the back side of the tail. You pick your sling length. I can assure you that they are even more beautiful in real life… it was really hard for me to give up the blue one.. I loved it so much when it was done. ♥
These will be finished in the next 3 weeks and payment in full is required when you email that you want one. (Since I will be starting on them right away)

Cherry Blossom Wall Hangings

This two part stretched canvas wall hanging turned out amazing -in my humble opinion I am tempted to make some for myself now! Each canvas is 16″ x 20″
Fabric on fabric appliqué with thread painting detail on the branches.
I used a fabulous multi colored pink fabric as the petals and love the effect.
Beautiful Cherry Blossoms!
These were purchased as a wedding gift.

Grand Canyon ll

I am finally getting around to posting pictures of this beauty. It was for my dad. I did this about a month and 1/2 ago. My biggest and most complicated, as far as piecing, so far. I really love stretching applique over this size and I’m already thinking about what the next will be.
Dimensions: 4′ wide x 3′ tall
Stretched over canvas, so not so much like a wall quilt.
